Altering our reaction to stress is imperative and will only help us to live a happier & healthier life.  So what is stress? According to Psychology Today, “Stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it’s an omnipresent part of life. A stressful event can trigger the “fight-or-flight” response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body. A little bit of stress, known as “acute stress,” can be exciting—it keeps us active and alert. But long-term, or “chronic stress,” can have detrimental effects on health.”

  1. Stress is something that seems to be running my life the older I get, and I would like to get it under control before it gets out of hand. It’s good to know that one thing that I might need to try doing is altering how I react to stressful situations, which I can agree is in need of a lot of work. It might be smart for me to consider finding a counselor so that I can have help getting over this.
